Family and Friends.

What would life be without your family and friends! Mine would most certainly not be as eventful as it is now! :) On Saturday my family and I took a trip up to see my grandma and grandpa in Hillsboro! After a nice lunch at our beloved Durham Cafe we headed into Hillsboro to grandmas store! I love going and spending the day there! While daddy attended to some business mom and I went and of course made our annual stop in at Nancy's...and guess what happened...yes we found some treasures! As usual! Then we went to their grocery store...they have the best meat! So of course we had to get some of that! Then we hung out in the store! I put on the record player and read a magazine, while daddy worked, and mom shopped! As we made our way home with daddy's ipod playing mom rested! When we got back I went over to my friends to go see one of our friends play a gig at Mead's Corner...a coffeeshop here! He did so good! They got second! woot! woot! All in all it was a very good and enjoyable day!

firsts and lasts.

This is my last step before moving on to college! But the first friday before I start my senior year!  wow...where did the years go?! I don't really feel like I should be a senior yet...it still hasn't really sunk in yet! I am so excited to move on to the next step in my journey! Life is about the journey not the destination! :) As I always like to say! Summer meals are almost coming to an end! Summer is coming to an end! Not a fan but thats okay! Taking my senior pictures really got me thinking about how fast the years have gone! I remember like it was yesterday the first day of freshman year, or the first day of 6th grade, or the first day of kindergarten~wow...I am getting old! ;) But growing up is a part of life! Wishing my dear friend Stevie good luck as she is going on the represent Kansas in the Outstanding Teen pageant in Orlando all this week! A good night consists of doing my nails, blogging, and reading! And homemade banana split...or at least my take on it! Jim Brickman always relaxs me! Such a nice and relaxing evening ahead!
The biggest journey started with your first step!

-Ecclesiastes 12:1-3-
“Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, ‘Life is not pleasant anymore.’ Remember him before the light of the sun, moon, and stars is dim to your old eyes, and rain clouds continually darken your sky. Remember him before your legs—the guards of your house—start to tremble; and before your shoulders—the strong men—stoop. Remember him before your teeth—your few remaining servants—stop grinding; and before your eyes—the women looking through the windows—see dimly.”

State of Mind.

It is that time of the year again where I have to get back into the mind set of school starting up! Not necessarily my favorite time but it is what it is! This week I am doing the things that I will no longer be able to do!Today I went to church this morning while mom had bible study I pestered people...as usual! Laurie and I had fun messing around with Wordle. Then a nice lunch with some bffs! What a lovely time we had! Getting back into the mind set includes school supplies! While I don't NEED any more because I have so much already...there are always WANTS that I have! Which usually includes some new pencils...yes I'm weird and love getting new pencils...but only the no. 2 kind...no mechanical for this girl! Old Soul! :) Getting back in the swing of things means getting up early and getting myself put together and off!

Love.

I just love, love, love summertime! It is such a good time to relax and just do whatever it is you love to do just to relax! There hasn't been a lack of relaxing done here! Mom and I spent a lovely day doing NOTHING...those are the best! We got up late, read, and watched a movie!
A Sweethaven Homecoming: One of the best books I have read all summer. A sequel to her first A Sweethaven Summer. This one was just as good if not better than the first! I literally couldn't put it down (thats why I read it in one day!) :) Isn't that what summer is about!
First Daughter: Now this movie isn't new, but new to our collection! And let me tell you it didn't disappoint! Such a cute story, mom and I are suckers for chick flicks! This one was kept us on our toes though!
Journaling: Mom and I told ourselves at the beginning of summer, "We are going to journal this summer." usually we say that and it doesn't happen. But it has become one of the things I look forward to most during the day! Just to have quite time and just to think and reflect! I have challenged myself to read a book in The Bible, and I am doing very well! Just that time I can learn and build my relationship is needed!
...Such a fun day relaxing! This week is dedicated to doing the things in the summer I can't continue when I am in school! I am just trying to enjoy my last week of summer!

  • great olympics
  • a wonderful girl of God becoming a woman
  • sr. youth and young adult musicians
  • summer freshness in a bowl
  • fresh bread from a friend - yummy!
This past week mom and I had a craft day! We found such great ideas in a magazine my grandma had...surprise surprise! :) But we found the cutest ideas and just HAD to try them! and they turned out wonderfully! A homemade bulletin board for my necklaces, and a homemade very me canvas! LOVE them both! Alittle rearranging of my pictures and placement! It is just perfect! What my mom and I have been going for all summer! The Olympics this year for my family has kind of been bittersweet. With Michael Phelps deciding not to compete after these games, we have been a long time fan of him! The girls gymnastic team just blew us away, and Missy Franklin WOW...thats all I have to say about that! Our summer freshness and fresh bread from a very generous friend! Loved them both! and love the baker even more! Stevie our wonderful girl of God now transforming into an awesome young lady~we are definatly celebrating her! She is such an inspiration to all! I have learned so much from her over the years and it is still continuing! em-BRACE the future! Sr. Youth and Young Adult musicians are at it again! Celebrating life, love, and friends!
